What makes a fintech developer different from a regular developer?
Three things: idempotency instincts, compliance reflexes, and regulatory fluency. Most software can fail occasionally without consequence — fintech cannot. When a dashboard times out, the user refreshes. When a payment system times out, someone gets charged twice and you find out during reconciliation three months later. A senior generalist with no regulated-environment background needs 6–12 months to develop the reflexes a fintech-native engineer has on day one.
Do we own the code your developers write?
